PYBA Meeting 12/5/21 9:00-9:30AM via Zoom
In Attendance: Joe Nompleggi, Erin Braden, Holly Menard, Allison Swiatlowski, & Brandon Pronovost
PYBA Agenda items:
Define close contact response. Do we follow vaccination guidelines as suggested by BOH that close contacts that are vaccinated do not need to quarantine? How do we verify this information or do we create a general rule for vaccinated or unvaccinated to quarantine 10 days? Since masks are worn we are not considering participants close contacts in the context of practices and games. Will update contact response in COVID guidelines document. To keep things uncomplicated we will use blanket rules for quarantining for PYBA in regards to symptomatic individuals. Board of Health, CDC, and DESE guidelines were used for guidance while drafting documents.
Define close contact : 6 feet at 15 minutes or 3 feet for 3 minutes. CDC says 6ft at 15 minutes outside of the school setting. We will utilize CDC guidelines. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/daily-life-coping/K-12-infographic.html
Define timeline for notification of positive case on team. 24 hours.
Define response for not following masking rules. Verbal warning followed by cancelation of practice/game. Any board member may enforce this rule.
Determine whether parents should be present for practices and/or limit on family members attending games. Not a current issue. We will consider this in the future if things evolve.
Discuss traffic flow plan for games/practices to limit amount of people in gym at one time and enforcement. So far traffic flow is working.
What information will be logged with PYBA. Attendance logs? Positive cases log? Not necessary at this point since our players and coaches are masked and there has been no spread within the league.
Should coaches screen each kid at beginning of practices/games? Consider placing a board at entrance with reminder of symptoms. Coaches should remind players to self-screen before practices and games.
How will we handle low census on teams due to positive cases. Will address individually.
How will we respond to a team outbreak. Will address individually.
COVID response packet sent to coaches with board member emails. Finished documents will be distributed to coaches, player parents/guardians, PYBA website, and Facebook.
